Wearing White Dresses
White is one of those colours that not everyone feels they are able to wear, with confidence. Whilst you can wear white in a professional setting - like on a shirt or blouse, it is less common elsewhere in the wardrobe.
So, here we’re going to go through how to wear a white dress. Additionally, we'll explain how we would accessorise it and where to get your hands on them.
Interesting fact: Whilst shades of white are said to represent both purity and innocence, it actually symbolises an even level of both perfection and balance.
Celebrities in White Dresses
Many celebrities, such as Sienna Miller, have taken to the red carpet wearing white dresses for various events. The misconception of the white shade may imply that it’s all weddings and glamour, but this is not always the case as these stunning ageless snaps show.
Diva Catwalk White Dresses
At Diva Catwalk we have hundreds of dresses for you to get your hands on. These include our white designs which we simply adore. Where each colouring varies (from pearl ivory to vanilla cream) we are positive that you’ll find the perfect white shade.
The Flute Sleeved White Dress
Our Meridian Flute Sleeve dress comes in 12 different shades, including our Ivory Cream. With the dress offering a flattering fit, the peplum sleeve effect helps the silhouette frame and shape into the waist. Featuring a round neck and pleating detail this kind of dress requires little all else to make it the head-turner of the season. We suggest pairing it with petite earrings and matching heels.

The Orla Asymmetric dress is a standalone statement piece that blends perfectly with equal accessories. We suggest pairing the dress with these white stilettos from Simmi London and falling earrings, like these drop-style pair from Krystal that is currently on sale for £13.75, down from £75!

What colour cover-up with a white dress?
The great thing with a colour like white, or cream, is that a statement shade can pair great when choosing a coat. With white almost laying down a background, it allows you to add any kind of colour on top. Here, we're briefly going through some of our favourite statement cover-ups. What's more, we guarantee they will pair perfectly with your white dress - whether it's office or event!
Powdered Pink and white may feel reminiscent of delicious marshmallows and childhood, but hear us out! This super cute 'Aleida Tri Blazer' is available in three different shades from All Saints. Whilst we do genuinely love all three, we feel the powered pink just tops it.

Footwear with pink and white
Whilst there are a variety of powdered pink shoes available, we suggest that you choose a darker pink. Why? Well, this is purely down to the fact that the combination of the white dress & light pink blazer is a whole-lorra-pastel. By interjecting some colour, like a neon pink or fuchsia, then you’re guaranteed to have that statement outfit ticked off.
Standing Bold in Cobalt
KarenMillen.com is currently having a sale with up to 50% off various seasonal must-haves. So, naturally, we jumped straight onto their website to find any of our favourites that are already bookmarked. Here, we've chosen the Compact Stretch Single Breasted Jacket (which is currently available in three shades), our favourite shade being the bright Cobalt. Pairing shoes that match this bright shade shouldn’t be too difficult as it does seem to be one of the favourite shades of the season.

A quick search online prompts these Stradivarius Pointed Court Heeled Shoes at a mere £19.99. Or, you could opt for a soft finish pair of asymmetric stiletto shoes from Mango at a comfortable £25.99 (pre-sale £35.99). And, finally, last but not least, there is the suede sandal luxurious option from Guess that's available for £84 (down from £120, you're practically saving money already... right? - that's what we tell ourselves anyway).
What colours to wear with white?
With white being a neutral colour, it's understandable if you're unsure on what shades to pair with it. Whilst in our other blogs about wearing colour we talk about the use of the colour theory wheel, this type of shade would not fall within that category (as it does not feature on the theory wheel). However, this gives the colour more availability for a suitable partner shade. Here we go through what shades go best with the colour white and why.
Nude: Combining a nude heel with your white dress can not only help elongate your legs but it is also one of those stunning, yet simple, shades that go perfect with most skin tones.
Black: Yes, it might seem stand off-ish to wear something that is the complete opposite of the shade your wearing but in actual fact it works and it works well! Opting for a monochrome look can be simply done and look exquisite.
Metallic: For added shimmer without going bold with colour with your white dress we found that subtle metallic designs can look great.
