How to Wear Orange All Year Round
What is the psychology of the colour orange?
Clothing in the colour orange not only looks fabulous but also comes with positive psychological reinforcement! With the shade viewed as optimistic and uplifting, it is believed to also rejuvenate our spirit. What's more, orange continues to bring spontaneity and positivity, which they say encourages motivation.
What skin tone can wear orange?
Wondering what skin tone suits orange is an unsurprisingly common question. The great thing about orange, among many other colours, is that there is a shade of it for everybody. Whether it’s a light pastel tone or a bright, bold shade.
So, what shade of orange suits me?
Here, we’re going to briefly go through a few of our favourite orange summer shades and offer what skin tones they suit best, and the reason behind it. It’s important to note that, although we suggest the following shades work well against certain skin tones, if you prefer your chosen shade (even if it goes against our suggestions) then please do go ahead and wear it! Rock the look and own it with confidence!
Colour: Bright Orange
Best Suits: Olive Skin tones
Reason: The bright tone radiantly bounces off the olive skin tone instead of overpowering or washing out the skin.
Colour: Pastel Orange
Best Suits: Dark & Light Tones
Reason: Just like bright orange, pastel orange can radiantly bounce off dark skin and really pop against your skin, making you glow. Having a fair, lighter tone or a dark, smooth tone, can work perfectly with a pastel shade – it allows the colour to pop. Whereas, a tone that is almost matching with the orange shade itself can give a washed-out appearance.
Colour: Tangerine Orange
Best Suits: Fair Skin tones
Reason: The lighter the shade of orange, the lighter of skin tone is suits. With using a bright shade of tangerine orange against a fair skin tone, it mirrors the bright orange abilities in that it is a strong colour to POP against the fair skin tone beneath.
