Why you should wear pink this summer
The colour pink can mean a variety of things, from love to kindliness and femininity.
Here we're going to go through our top 10 pink dresses that we think you should get your hands on right now. From our very own Nicola Frill dress to the ASOS Maxi dress of the Summer in bright pink (perfect for weddings, FYI!).
What colour goes well with pink?
Thankfully, pink is an easy colour to pair with. If you want to allow the dress to make a statement then you could use calmer shades against. Perhaps the use of white, cream or peach being ideal. If, however, you choose to blend the outfit together, then you could choose to use other variations of the pink shade you already have on.
Personally, we love how navy and pink blend well together. As well as this, we love the idea of incorporating white and cream into the outfit, with other shades of pink and similar shades from the colour wheel we’ve discussed before.
We’ve previously mentioned the colour wheel in our past articles, so here’s a super quick refresh:
“The colour wheel is a visual representation of colours, with hues arranged according to wavelength. Colour wheels allow colour relationships to represent geometrically and show the relationship between primary colours, secondary colours and tertiary colours – Invision App”
With looks in mind, we are going to focus on two of the colour wheel sections: complementary and analogous.
Complementary simple means the colours that are found opposite your main shade. So, for pink, you might choose yellow or green. Whereas with Analogous, this refers to shades that are on either side of your chosen colour. So, again, for pink, you might choose to add purple, blue and red.

The Bell Sleeved dress
As we've already mentioned, we love the shade of navy against the colour choice of pink. So, it would only make sense for us to suggest our Reggie dress. The dress has a round neckline which features a short slit. Additionally, there is pleat detail across the hip area and 3/4 sleeves. Our chosen shade, of course, would be the Yarrow Pink (but we do think we want every colour in our wardrobe).

Accessories for my Pink Dress
Pairing accessories with your dress can make or break the look you’re after. Here, we’re going to go through a few of our favourite bags and shoes. We have picked each accessory with the idea of a pink dress in mind, no matter the shade.
This quilted, crossbody bag from Accessorize is super cute when worn with the bright pink dress we had in mind or when paired with a more casual look. With its detachable body strap, it means it can be used in a variety of ways. With its internal zip pocket, you can also be sure to keep your valuables safe wherever you choose to wear it.

Hopping on the Analogous scheme here we've chosen a small navy blue Dune bag next. With the cross-body strap and fastening, it would suit the pink dress or in a casual fit with denim, as pictured.

When we think of Ralph Lauren, we think of quality, heritage, fashion and, of course, Rachel from Friends… but we definitely don’t think ‘budget friendly’. However, this super sleek Chadwick Carter cross body bag surprised us at £58.
It's a small bag, lightweight and made from durable fabric. With two zip compartments inside, you can be sure to have enough room for the equally small essentials. Lipstick, phone, cards and keys - done!
Buy now via John Lewis £58
This chic number comes in with a rectangular body and a curb chain strap, and definitely turns heads! Essentially, this bag also includes zipped pockets and card slots, so you know they're secure. Whilst made of leather, this bag is available in an additional four shades. It is pretty spenny, but we adore the look of it and see it as the older, perhaps wiser, sister of the Accessorize quilted cross body.

Footwear for your Pink Dress
In our first shoe choice, we've instantaneously reached out to Kurt Geiger - a firm favourite! Their Shoreditch Sandal is available in three shades (Black, white and stunning Yellow). It's a simple design, with sleek strapwork around the front of the foot and a small signature eagle head charm on the ankle strap. These shoes are also leather and are available in sizes 3UK to 8UK.

In our second shoe choice, we've found a sleek chic pair of court shoes from L.K Bennet - available from John Lewis. The court shoe comes in two simple shades: navy suede or black suede. For this look, we have chosen the navy suede, however, the black could also work. Again, it's a simple design as a tall stiletto at around 10cm in height. As pictured, the navy shade is subtle and we adore it! These are available in more sizes than KG, with sizes 2UK to 8.5UK offered.

What jacket to wear with a pink dress?
Choosing your cover-up for Spring/Summer can feel like a waste of time, especially when the sun peeks out. But, we have to remember that no matter how warm it may be, we are in the UK. Let's be realistic when it comes to the weather here.
Here are a few of our favourite cover-up ideas.
Our SEED Dawlish coat is the perfect coat to go from formal to casual and back again. Here we've chosen the Navy Blue shade as it would pair with the pink choices well, however, there is also Black and Salsa Red up for grabs.
With it being designed to flatter all body shapes, this peplum effect coat aids in creating (or emphasising) an hourglass silhouette. Created using our Couture Stretch Fabric, and with a tailored fit in mind, our SEED Dawlish coat features a concealed zip closure for extra comfort and style.

When oversized pieces made their way onto the catwalk we all knew they were going to be there for the long haul. Here, we’ve spotted a stunning grey ASOS DESIGN double breasted Dad blazer – a nod to being oversized and of great quality.
With peak lapels, double-breasted style and pocket details, you're on to a winner with this blazer. Where it would look elegant draped over your shoulders, with the colour taking a stand back against the pink of your dress, it also offers comfort and warmth in its 'relaxed Dad fit'. An additional bonus is that it is available in sizes 4UK to 18UK too!
